Ladies I need your help.
My brain is just blank. We have taken a week break until we start our lighter summer school schedule and our cooking ministry for church. We are 3 days into it, and my son(10) is going stir crazy. This is why I went to schooling year round. We don't have a lot of kids for him to play with, but hopefully get some time with his friends from church. His sisters will play with him, but are also enjoying some down time. We don't do a lot of screen time, because it becomes a monster in our house
So if you have any ideas of things to engage his mind, I would love that. Right now he is in the mood of "no, I don't like that." We don't do many organized sports, to much time commitment. Our pool will open in a couple of weeks, so that will be something. I know you all are busy, so thanks for any ideas you have.

Re: Summer ideas
What is he interested in? Maybe you could get some fun Lego or circuit (Snap Circuits are a good starting place) for him to do? How about a garden that he can manage in whatever form is good for your area?

Re: Summer ideas
My ten year old son loves to build things. We've bought him spoons, wooden sticks, clothes pins, rubberbands, binder clips, & more from the Dollar Store, & he enjoys making catapults and other contraptions that project or fling beads & mini marshmellows. Another fun option is to get him a low-heat (not high-heat!) hot glue gun. You would be amazed what kids can come up with at this age! If he has a hard time coming up with ideas on his own, you could pick a weekly theme for him - & even tie it in to a thematic unit, where he reads a book, paints a portrait, & builds a 3D model to go with it. I hope these ideas are the type you were looking for!
