going back for missed work

So....because of busyness and my tendency to do all or nothing, I did some of the guides we are in that we could get to and skipped some pieces and parts. If I wouldn't have done that, we would've done about nothing. Now I'm trying to decide if I should stop and go back for some of those things before we carry on, or just carry on doing everything now that things have slowed.
What would you do?

I would go back and do those pieces and parts for the reason that the skills build on each other so much, especially with the guides you are doing. Doing all of CTC as written, meaning doing the independent boxes independently really sets the stage for being able to do all the following guides. My understanding is that the work in Bigger really prepares them for Preparing. I would hate for you to get to the next guide and then you dc struggle because the foundation wasn't built.

Can your children do the guide as written where they are? If so, I would keep going and just make sure everything gets done. If they can't do the guide as written because there are gaps, then I would go back and fill in those gaps before moving on.

Stephanie, that is exactly what we are doing with ds #3. We started over in CTC a month or so ago to fill in the gaps. He would not be able to move on to RtR otherwise, as it would have been too much. We are definitely working on "work ethic" and heart attitude, but it has been so worth the effort. We have really emphasized the fact that he is a representative of Jesus, and everything needs to be done "as unto the Lord".
