From Extensions to High School

I know this is a little ways off, and I think I saw some else post something similar on one of the facebook pages (or yahoo group or the forum). If your child is doing the extensions, how are you going to handle moving to high school? Do you "beef up" MTMM? Or do you skip MTMM? Or do you skip Rev to Rev, do MTMM for 8th and then the high school guides? I'm concerned to skip anything because everything is skill based, however, I think I would rather do WG for 9th and have all of the credits easily line up (rather than beefing up MTMM).

I have two sons combined in Preparing (4th and 5th grade) right now. Everything works out well for the 4th grader, but the 5th grader is doing extensions now and will miss a book (either before high school or the last book that will be written in the series).

Thoughts?

There have been families that have done each option you listed. All will work, and it just depends on how you want to structure it. There is a Post with how to beef up guides for high school. The biggest thing you will need to do is add economics to MtMM. Other than that, you would have to determine your state's requirements as well s those of the colleges your child is interested for science. Many only require three years, which would mean you could use the science in each guide. If for are required, then adjustments would need to be made.

If you chose to skip, I might go on to RtR next year for older ds, skipping CTC. He could then move along at the regular pace, and maybe catch some of CTC from younger ds
