Question about read alouds.....

Hi Everyone! :) I am trying to plan a daily school schedule using 2, possibly 3, HOD programs. For those that are using more than one program, how do you handle the read-alouds? I can't see myself juggling three read aloud times. One thought was to do the Preparing read aloud with the two boys during the day, and the Bigger read aloud at bedtime. Then the Little Hearts at a different time during the day with just my daughter. The only problem is that next year my younger son will have heard all the read alouds from Preparing. I am sure I am over thinking this, but am confused. :? Any ideas? Thanks! :)

Hi Allison,

We're doing Preparing and Beyond next year, and my plan is to do the Beyond storytime readings while the kids eat breakfast (something we've already done for several years). I chose books that none of my kiddos have heard from the Beyond lists, so it will be new for everyone.

I'm planning on catching my girls sometime during the day for the Preparing storytime selection.. either while they're lazing around in bed first thing in the morning :D or while my son is doing his piano or computer time. That way these stories will be "new" to him once he gets to Preparing.

Now, if I were doing three programs, I'd probably have to rethink it.. but at least the selections are pretty short -- it's easy to sneak them in sometime! Have fun planning!
