Little Hands to Heaven ...question please

I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 4 year old. My 4 year old is "chomping at the bit" to "do school". She loves doing workbooks, I am doing one on opposites right now, she doesn't always understand it, fine with me, but she asks to do it everyday.

Does the Little Hands book have stuff they can actually do, worksheets, cut and paste or anything? I love the reading and bible stories but she will want more than that.

If not...what would you all recommend?

This should give you a good idea what each day is like. There is plenty to do, although it's not workbooks, and it's my impression your daughter will enjoy AND understand

I'm not usinig it myself, but I sure wish I had known about it when my kids were littler! I am using Bigger HEarts for His Glory right now, and my girls and I are enjoying every bit of it!
Hopefully, others will chime in who are using Little Hands now.

Hi Kim!
I hope you love this program as much as we do.

There are lots of hands on activites - making letters in various things (oil, paint, pudding, etc), Glueing items on letters, some things to print-out Number Pages, Count-on me and Hide-n-Seek pages. All of these use items from around your home. I just had to buy contruction paper and I had everything else.

My son is a huge workbook fan also so we have added some that we bought at the store. If you have a SAMs Club, they have a huge one that I wish I would of seen earlier. Otherwise, we found several at Walmart, Target, etc.

We don't use the workbooks everyday because there is enough some days for him and other days he could go for hours if I would let him. It only takes us less than a half hour to do the items in the book MOST days and then we do other stuff until he is done or we hit an hour.

Hi Kim! It's nice to meet you!

We've used LHTH twice, and you'll surely find there's enough to do! Plus, it's stuff your little ones can actually DO rather than watch YOU do it (some other programs I've done were this way). My kids loved to continue the activities long after we'd finished the plans of LHTH. For example, when we built a city out of legos, they wanted to keep on building for a long time afterward. When we used playdough to make a cave for the miracle Jesus did with Lazarus, they kept using playdough (and re-enacting the miracle) long after we'd "finished" LHTH. They also begged to do the fingerplays over and over, and wanted to listen to their Singing Bible even just when they were playing. If your 4 year old is really chomping at the bit to do workbooks, you can do the Rod and Staff books recommended in Little Hearts for His Glory, and then when you do Little Hearts for His Glory, you can use the upper level Thinking Skills Gr. 1 which is also in the Little Hearts... plans.

I think I'd just thoroughly enjoy LHTH with your kiddos though - what wonderful memories you are going to be making! I can't wait to do it a 3rd. time in a few years with our youngest!

Just wanted to chime in to say that I've got a 4 yr old who also loves workbooks. He thoroughly enjoys LHTH. Loves the fingerplays, crafts and the worksheets that go along with LHTH. What I've done to satisfy his workbook "craving" is to start Explode the Code books with him. Since he already knows the letters and their sounds, I purchased Get Ready, Get Set, Go and Book 1 and I'm doing to letter that corresponds to the week that we're in for LHTH. It's working perfectly for him.
