Highschool Credits

This is my first time posting. In June I completed my first year homeschooling kids in 2nd, 5th and 8th grades, and had a wonderful experience using HOD resources! Thank you so much!

My oldest daughter begins high school this year and I have so many questions. We moved to Colorado in December and I have a bit of confusion when I compare their credit requirements to the HOD credit system. When you say 1/2 credit, do you mean the equivalent of one semester? In Colorado, one semester = 1 full credit. There is a possibility this particular kiddo may be returning to public school for her last two years of high school, so I want to be sure and keep up.

Thanks!

The system in Indiana is just as you describe. So yes, you would count double credits for your HOD program. Every one semester class would be one credit, every full year class would be two credits.

I assumed a credit was a credit. We do 1 semester equals 1 credit in school here. But you take 4 credits/classes in 1st semester and 4 in 2nd. I just assumed it was the same amount of work, but done in smaller daily increments so it lasted a year instead of half a year.

Thanks! That's what I hoped. Our kids here complete about 14 credits per school year needing a minimum of 46 to graduate. So the 1 credit = 1 semester answer makes the most sense in my case I think. Appreciate the help! :)

We're only 30 credits, so, I guess we are different.

Glad you found your answer.
