Question about Aesop's Fables version

I was just wondering if the HOD version is needed or if it could be substituted for a different one? I already have the Milo Winters version (from SL) and am wondering if that one would work.

I am wondering the same thing as I have two here already. I think given to us as gifts. I was hoping that I could use one of them. I won't need this until next year but am already looking through my shelves.

Also following. I'm wondering if there's a different literary quality between versions or different reading level?
Could someone who owns the suggested one (Classic Treasury of Aesop's Fables from Preparing - I noticed there's a different one in the Deluxe package, are there others in different years?) maybe type in one of them here so we could compare and decide if our own copies are comparable or not?
Thanks in advance!
Blessings,

There are many different versions of Aesop's fables in print. The differences you will find are 1) number and quality of illustrations 2) the order in which the stories are compiled in the book(s). Who knows if the book(s) you have have the same stories in them? The ones in that version are very well known, so probably they do. You would have to go through the guide and figure out which stories are supposed to be read each time and write in your own page numbers. In the guide I think it only states the page numbers, though the "Key Idea" will tell you what the story is about. Usually you read a whole fable in one day, sometimes more than one. The one sold with the Preparing package has beautiful illustrations in it so even though we already have a couple of books with Aesop's fables in them I bought it. I was glad I did. But I also have that I am planning to reuse these with more kids down the line, so having the whole package together for me is very convenient, I can box this book up with the others and leave our other Aesop's Fables out for us to enjoy when we wish.
