reading log

Hello wonderful Ladies,

I was just making some notes for my high schooler and wondering what would be the best way to put together a reading log for all the great books from HOD? Is there an easy way to copy and paste? Just trying to keep some notes so when I have to put her transcript together it won't be so difficult. I am also trying to keep it simple. We used the Homeschool helper app for the Ipad this past year, and it made most things easier, but I think I still made it harder than it needs to be.

Thanks for your help. What a great board! I don't post much, but read a lot of the messages and I guess you could say "copy" others ideas. So thanks for your ideas!
Stacey

What guides are you going to be using? You won't need a specific list of books for a transcript. You just need course names. If you are using the high school guides (World Geography and up), Carrie has already spelled out the credits for the guide. It is in the introduction to the guide, along with ideas on how to grade your student. You will also find a list of books used there as well, in case you do need it for something else. The introductions are available under each guide on the website in a pdf format. You can just print the needed pages off if you want for your records.

Here is the World Geography one:
http://www.heartofdakota.com/pdf/wg-overview.pdf
Pages 10-12 have the materials/books used, page 13 has the credits and basics on grading, and then pages 14-35 have all of the details on grading and what is included in each course.

Thank you! It is good to know I don't really need a reading log. I thought I might, but we will just skip it. It seems the WG guide will have all the information I need away. We are on our light summer schedule and will get back at it in Aug and finish up MTMM and then move into the WG guide.

Thanks again!
