My DS is 8 and will be 9 in Nov. We just completed Adventures in MFW in 2nd grade. I would like to move to HOD Preparing Hearts for His Glory. I would love to hear your experiences and whether you think it would be a good fit for a 3rd grader. Thank you, Teresa

Have you used the placement chart? That's the best place to start to see where he places.
Then come back so the great ladies here can walk you through it.

I would check the placement chart first to see where you child places. I will say, my dd was 8 last year and she had completed MFW Adventures the year before. She went into Preparing and had no trouble at all. But when I checked the placement chart, that was where she placed

HTH.

We went from MFW Adventures for 2nd into Bigger Hearts for 3rd. It is a great 3rd grade guide. You should not place your child according to the history cycle, but according to their skill level.

Welcome to the HOD Board, Tcarter95!

Have you had a chance to check out the placement chart? It truly is the best place to begin and so accurate it is worth the time. Here is a link - you'd want to pay special attention to the first page (reading, writing, grammar, math) for each of your dc (especially the 8 yo)...

If you get the chance to share your findings, the ladies will all chat through it together with you here!

Julie
