Hi everyone,
Do I need to purchase the basic history read aloud package AND the extensions package for a 6th and 7th grader doing PHFHG? In addition to the primary history books, it says the basic additional history books r highly recommended. But is this still the case for those choosing to do extensions package?
Thanks in advance!

The basic package are storytime read-alouds and you definitely want those, they add a lot to the history content. The extensions are purely add-on for the child to read themselves. I guess some people do have their child read both but read-aloud time is so enjoyed in my family I think even with an older child I would still read it aloud to them.
It is intended to use the basic package books, they are scheduled each day in the guide.

Ok, thank you!

For sixth and seventh graders, I would do both unless there is a reason they are unable to do the reading themselves of the extensions. You have a super year ahead of you in PHFHG - we have great memories of PHFHG with our sons!!! I look forward to doing it again down the road with my youngest. Have s good year!
