SM- Home Instructor Guide -or- Teacher Guide?

Post by momtofive » Fri Mar 28, 2014 4:01 pm

I was planning on picking up the HIG for SM levels 5A and up. When I looked at them at the HOD website, they appear to be teacher's guides. However the description of the item is Home Instructor Guide. My question is which will I get if I order them? I'd like to get the HIG for added support as well as ease in checking daily work, but am not interested in the teacher's guide format.

Thanks so much ! ;)

Hi Lisa! If you order the HIG 5A/5B, you will get the Home Instructor Guides, which were written by Sonlight and include further examples and more fully-worked answers. The Singapore Answer Key for 4A-6B is just the answers, without the more fully-worked solutions. I used 6A/6B HIG for help when I needed it. I did not pull it out daily, but found it useful for those difficult multi-step problems, as well as for additional examples. The 5A/5B Textbooks are used to teach the lessons, are written by Singapore, and are paired with the 5A/5B workbooks, working together just as they did for the earlier years in Singapore. HTH! :D

Thanks, Julie! ;) That's exactly what I needed to know! :D

We're using the textbooks and workbooks here, along with our HOD schedule. It's working well so far, but I know I'll want the HIG'S in case we need them for the upper levels.

Thanks so much!! ;)
