Are the guides diverse in their teaching? IOW, are non-White historical figures taught in the guides?

Of course! . I can't remember everyone my kids have learned about over the years of using HOD, but they have learned about numerous non-white historical figures. My daughter is using CTC this year, which has a ton of biblical history, and has learned about numerous people from the middle east. I thought Preparing was very diverse in coverage as well. And my older boys used MTMM last year, and it covered a wide variety of people and places. Is this kind of what you were asking about?

Yes most definitely. I can't begin to remember everyone, but here are some things I remember off the top of my head. When the guides cover important events in different countries then those leaders are studied ie Ghandi, some of the African tribal leaders, Emperor Hirohito,etc. Also figures like Buddha and Muhammad and many others. In I think Rev to Rev we did a story time book called Only their Names Remain about the Trail of Tears and he studied many of the Native American chiefs. I know he read a book on George Washington Carver and also studied Fredrick Douglas and Booker T Washington as well as Harriet Beecher Stowe. This year in MTMM he has studied a wide range of people from different countries and ethnic backgrounds. He loved the story time book Freedom Walkers that focused on many of the Civil Rights leaders.
