Singapore Standards/ U.S. Edition

Hi,
I own all of the levels of the Singapore Standards Edition math books. I see that the US edition is scheduled in all the guides. Is this going to be a problem for me? Is there that much of a difference?
Thanks,
Renee

The activities in the LHFHG, Beyond, and Bigger guides won't line up (1A-3B). But, other than that, it isn't an issue. HOD lets you use what ever math you want. We aren't even using Singapore.

I assume you have textbooks and not workbooks, right? I don't know why they chose U.S. over Standards edition, but from 3A on it wouldn't matter if you wanted to use the Standards instead. It wouldn't be scheduled for you in the guide, but you could probably make your own schedule easily. Essentials (for K) and 1A-2B there are hands-on activities in the guides and you don't use the textbooks anyway so I assume it would be just as easy for you to get the U.S. workbooks for 1A-2B and just use your guide instead of the textbooks.

Hi Quiverfull!

You can use any math you want with HOD, but the U.S. Edition is HOD's preferred math choice, and as such the hands-on math activities that are written into the guides up through 2B match the U.S. Edition. Here is a link to a thread where Carrie explains this choice...
Carrie compares Singapore Standards to Primary:

FWIW, we've used U.S. Edition K through 6B and been very happy with the results! However, Carrie certainly recognizes one math program may not fit all students, so substituting is easy to do as well. HTH!

Julie

Thank you all for your help, I appreciate it.

I'm glad I don't have to buy new books
