I am actually hoping someone out there has used a digital encyclopedia and can recommend it. We are doing research in Preparing on Wikipedia, or other sites, and I find it to be very frustrating for me and my daughter both. I wish for a resource that I could just let her browse if she desired, show her how to use it and then let her imagination be her guide as to what she reads about. Anyone have one they love? It would be so great to buy it on a CD or DVD and then it is small and portable. I know there are also online services and if they are cheap then I suppose I would consider that too.
Thanks for any help!

Re: Encyclopedia?
We have access to the online World book Encyclopedia through our public library so it is free. We just log in to the libraries website and there is a link. You might want to check and see if your library offers the same thing. We used it more in the past than we do now. Sometimes it had what we were looking for and sometimes it didn't.

Re: Encyclopedia?
We recently found (through another HOD user) the Ancient History Encyclopedia on the Google App store. We use it on our desktop computer, just go to the app store from the Google home page, find it and download. We just did Unit 27 and found almost all of the answers! Haven't used it enough to know how it will be in future units, but it's worth a try.

Re: Encyclopedia?
Thanks for the tips. Our library also has an online resource we can use. The entries are a lot simpler, easier to understand (there is a children's encyclopedia and an adult's one). We will try that for our research. I also have a friend whose kids are older now and she has a pretty old encyclopedia but she may sell it to us.
