Hi. I'm a grandmother and about to begin HSing my two granddaughters who are 3 1/2 and almost 5. The parents of these little ones and I have been researching and we have decided on LHTH. It looks like exactly what we're looking for. I have one question (so far)....do I need to purchase the Teachers Guide? It seems like the books are easy enough to follow. If I don't absolutely need the TG I would put that money toward other books.

The program looks wonderful and I can't wait to get started on it.

Thanks,
Linda :D

Hi! Welcome!!
I would say the teacher's guide is the most essential piece. I would buy it over other books-you can always get books at the library-kwim? The teacher's guide gives you the outline and the format to follow with your day. It's broken down into very easy to follow boxes so you can pick and chose what to do when. It's perfect for my boys when they have that 30 second attention span at about age 2-3! We do a box, come back later, do another box, come back later, etc. that way they always see it as something FUN (not like my 14 yr old who sees school as WORK  )

Linda,

Welcome to the boards and to HOD! I'll just move this post over to the main board, as that is where all new posts go!

I'm so glad you got your question answered! :D I've had that question more than once, so it's not such an "out there" question after all.

We pray you'll enjoy LHTH with your little ones as much as we have!

Blessings,
Carrie
