supplies needed

Post by mommaof5 » Sat Feb 01, 2014 12:31 pm

Hi. Sorry for so many questions! Just wondering if there was a list of needed supplies on this message board somewhere. We will be doing Little Hands to Heaven, Bigger Hearts, and Resurrection to Reformation. Thanks! :D

HOD purposely doesn't have supply lists as the plans are written with multiple supply suggestions and substitutions are easy to make. :D Supplies you would have on hand are what are chosen for use, but here is a list to get you started...

Supplies in general:

Reading the introduction at the beginning of each of the HOD guides notes special supplies needed. HTH! :D

We are doing RTR too and loving it! We are getting ready to start week 3. We'll have to share our year together here! :D

Sure! I'm glad to help, and I hope you can get your guides soon. :D It is hard to wait! :D I know in most curriculums the supply gathering is something to stress about, but not so with HOD. Other than the general supplies I mentioned and the special supplies noted in the introductions, I've not gathered anything. One of my favorite things about homeschooling with HOD is that I don't have to get up early to prep a bunch of stuff. I just get to open my 3 guides and... teach. LOVE THAT! :D I can't wait for you to start.

And also remember that the introduction to each guide is posted on the HOD page, so you can read that now while you wait for your tax return. Although I have our guides, I still some times just read the PDFs I got from the HOD page because it is faster if I am at the computer already (school "room" is down stairs while the office is upstairs).

I find the same thing, most if not all of the things needed are things I already have (of course if you are just getting started homeschooling you may not have many of the school supplies or craft supplies, it sometimes takes some trial and error to build those things up). Generally school supply lists for school will help you too - so many basic things, construction paper, glue sticks, paints of some kind, colored pencils, markers, crayons, pencils, notebook paper (your need for spiral notebooks or notebook paper will depend on how you want to organize your child's work), notebook....
