Hi. I've homeschooled our kiddos from the start and my oldest is going to be eleven before the start of the next school year. I'm not sure if I should go with the Creation to Christ for her or the Resurrection to Reformation. She would technically be a sixth grader it's just that the Creation to Christ materials look so good I don't want her to miss it, and if I were to put her in that then she'd only be in the Missions to Modern Marvels when she started high school and I don't know how that would work with calculating credits. The same would happen to my other daughter who will be 9 for upcoming school year because I was thinking I would put her in with my 7 yr old in the Bigger hearts for His Glory. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!!

Your most important tool in deciding what to use will be the placement chart. http://www.heartofdakota.com/placing-your-child.php The second grid down is probably more critical as Reading, Grammar, and Math can be adjusted easily but Narration, Writing, etc are more difficult to adjust the level.

They emphasize you really should place based on where they fit, not which part of history you want them to study. All of the history comes back around again eventually as it is all covered at least twice.

Combining 2 children in Bigger is probably a good idea. Don't worry about your older one, there are ways to beef up MtMM to make it high-school credit worthy. You would just have to look at the following 3 guides, the 3 High School guides, and see what you would want to fill in for her 9th grade credits. Also many on here have used the last few Elementary/MS guides as HS with some additions so there are lots of suggestions on how to do that.

I agree that placement based off the the placement chart is important. Also, consider what sorts of reading, narrating, and independent work your oldest has done. Then look at the first weeks of the guides, which you can download from the website. That will help you decide where she places best. You could always have her read some of the books from CtC if she is best placed in RtR over the summer, etc.
