The World Geography Guide

Could you tell me about how much teacher time this guide requires on a daily basis? And what that time looks like?

I haven't ordered the guide yet, though I have looked at the intro/sample available online (awhile ago).

I'm still debating between five and six different guides for next year, so I'd like to have a better idea of what this guide will look like from the teacher/time perspective. (The other guides will all be repeats for me.)

Thought I'd give this a bump, as I'm also interested as well! ;)

If you look on this thread viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14423&p=102086&hili ... ns#p102086 you can see Julie's schedule for all her kids. Wyatt is the one doing the World Geography Guide and it looks like she has blocked out a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes teaching time. Keep in mind he has done every HOD guide so he is very familiar with how things work and is independent when he the box says independent.

Here is another thread with someone else's thoughts where they do a daily meeting time viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14469&p=102338&hili ... me#p102338 She said in another thread their meeting time is about an hour.

Thank you for those links.

I am leaning toward keeping all of my children separate next year. I think it will be manageable.

I just realized that we'll likely be doing many of the same guides next year. My plan is to have my kids in separate guides, as well. We'll be doing WG, Rev to Rev, CTC, Bigger, and Little Hearts. With the exception of the high school guide (WG), they'll all be repeats that I've taught before. The oldest three will be doing their guides much more independently than the younger two. And with Little Hearts being a pretty quick one to work through, I'm hoping it will be manageable, as well!

I'm thinking about staggering the start of a few of them, or even starting some off at half speed for a week or two so they can get the hang of things before we go full speed. I'll be planning out a good schedule though, to keep *me* on track!

Blessings as you plan out your year! ;)

Yep, those are the same five HOD guides we'll be using next year too! It will be our second time with Rev to Rev, third with CTC, fourth with Bigger, and fourth with Little... I think...

Thanks for answering here, LynnH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carrie and I appreciate your presence on the board immensely. :D Yes, we are meeting anywhere between an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. Just today I discovered something that worked GREAT for us. Due to all that has been going on with my parents, I have been unable to check work consistently later in the day, as I used to do. Today, I started our meeting time with first his oral narration, and then (here is the new part) I went through everything he did YESTERDAY with him. I know this feedback isn't as immediate, but I felt such relief to be able to do this as my later afternoons seem to run away from me. I then did my teaching for today's daily plans with Wyatt. We both liked this and plan on trying it again tomorrow. Just thought I'd share! Hats off to you ladies truly running MANY MULTIPLE GUIDES! A schedule surely does help, as does stagger starting, I'm sure. God bless!

In Christ,
Julie
