Preparing Unit 2 day 1 - she got the point, but...

her answer cracked me up!
For research we looked up another ancient culture with a worldwide flood story and talked about the differences between the stories, but how the fact that many ancient cultures have a story like this indicates that maybe it really happened (even though the stories got changed over the years, and God's Word does not change).
The question I think was "How does the fact that many cultures have a flood story indicate that it might be true?" Her answer "it doesn't." "Why not?" "Because only God's Word is true and God says it so it is true."
I think she may have missed the point about thinking critically to find out what is true....
I guess I am happy with that answer though.
I was going to keep going 1/2 speed this week but I think last Friday I had told her we were going to speed it up a little and she was all determined to do so, so we did 8 of the 10 boxes and it went really well! I even fit in LHTH and Beyond and my 1YO scribbled with markers and crayons and ate a whole big candy cane. It was really a great day school-wise, though I now have a lot of housework catch up to do.
