LHTH in 2 years?

My daughter is about to turn 3 in March. So far we've been doing letter of the week type of thing and playing. I am thinking of starting LHTH in august but I am wondering how do it in 2 years so that she can start LHFHG when she is 5? Also what sort of schedule do you all follow? I mean this in the sense that the curriculum only has 33 weeks and there is 52 in a year… When do you break and when do you school and what not? I realize that this is individual to each family but would love some guidance as to what works for you…
Thanks

We are going to try LHTH again in January when my younger two are 4 and 2.5. My plan is to do it 2-3 days a week. That means it will take at least 66 weeks to complete. And I know there will be weeks we take off for a variety of reasons, so it will probably take at least a year and a half if not two years to complete. For my solder one (the 4yo), I will start K math and phonics probably in the fall, a few days a week. We also might add in extra crafts or the second devotional to make each unit last longer too. I don't want to start LHFHG until the youngest is almost 5, as I am finding that the guide is great full speed for a 5.5-6yo (1st grade). So, we will do LHFHG half speed most likely for a while too, so we don't get to later guides too early for the youngest.

There are many ways you can stretch out a guide. You can do one year with a younger Bible & activities then the next use older options & add in fine motor skills.
You could also add in the extra Bibles & devotional and make each unit last for up to two weeks.
You could do school 2-4 days a week instead of 5
We use a combo of the last two for my 4 yo.
We use 2-3 Bibles, add in R&S fms books that come before the ones listed for kindergarten. Also we do additional activities if needed. I try to do LHTH 4 days at this point.
We just finished unit 24, that we started Monday of last week.
We will do 1 more unit over the next week and a half before Christmas.
Even when my olders start their break I will spend a bit more time focused on my 4 yo.
As far as when to plan breaks - at this age I would go with "as needed".
Along with a few basics like Thanksgiving, Christmas etc. any vacation time you know is coming.
Hope this gives you a few ideas.
Enjoy! It is a fun guide.
