I finished up Singapore Essentials B math during the first 9 weeks of the guide. Now I want to move on to the Primary Math. Do I need to get the next guide to do this book? I should I just get the Singapore Textbook?

If you want Carrie's activities for Primary 1, then you need the Beyond guide and workbooks only. If you aren't going to use those, then you can either use the textbook (that HOD carries) or the home instructor's guide (listed at $17.50 on the Singapore website for each one). It is up to which way you choose to go. The hands on activities stop after Bigger with 2B, and then math is scheduled more like 1A and 1B are in LHFHG.

The workbooks are a little more tedious and will have you going through more "exercise" based work. The hands-on activities Carrie wrote for 1A and 1B (which as Stephanie said are in the Beyond guide) are really fun and really help cement the concepts. Plus a few added concepts. You would not regret buying the Beyond guide to use those math activities, especially if you think you will eventually use Beyond anyway.

The hands-on math activities HOD has written for 1A/1B have been a solid (and very fun :D ) way for me to teach all 3 of our dc Singapore Math 1A/1B. I would get the Beyond guide. As you'd need the Beyond guide next year anyway, you are actually getting it for less since you don't need to buy the textbooks then. You also can let HOD know (next year) that you bought the Beyond guide from them already. They'll look up your order and give you the Beyond Economy package savings then next year. HTH!
