What do you have your children use to write in these? There are times I have trouble reading the pencil my daughter uses. She's afraid of pen and so am I- handwriting is a struggle for her and at least pencil can be erased. I though about erasable pens but do they smear easily? I'm sure this has been talked about before but appreciate any input.

Hi Leah!

We went from pencil, to pen, to eraseable pens, back to pencil. At least for us, we love the good old pencil best.

My ds prefers to be able to erase when he makes an error, and I like for him to be able to edit his work without his changes being obvious. The final product looks so nice this way. We switched to some heavier weighted lead clicky pencils - I think they are called Pentel Icy mechanical pencils. I've found them at Walmart, Target, and online. I know other ladies may have different pens/pencils that are working, but the pencil has still been the best choice for Wyatt. HTH!
In Christ,
Julie

My children write their outlines on paper; we check mistakes; and then they write the final copy in Uniball pen. We have off-white colored White Out if they make a mistake. I don't think that is the "assigned" way, but it was what my children were used to before we found HOD.
