CTC and English

This has probably been posted somewhere before, but I couldn't find it. My twins are doing CTC this year, and so far it's been great! However, I do have a question about English. They are in fifth grade, and we are only just starting Rod & Staff English 4. If we are only in the book twice a week, it's going to take us two years to get through it. Should I be doing it all four days? Just concerned that we won't be where we need to be. That would put us in English 6 in 8th grade. Thanks for your help!

Carrie recommends completing R&S 6 by the end of 8th grade. Here are some links:

Mom2monkeys explains I think what progression you would follow in this link:

Thanks so much. That's exactly what I needed to hear! I'm enjoying a lighter English load this year, and so are the kids!

We do R&S on our own with one lesson a day. I do not follow the guide recommendations. But - I will say my kiddos seem to have a strong command of the material (unlike math, let's say) and it is very comfortable. I hope to complete R&S 10 in grade 10 and then have them take English at the local community college for grades 11 & 12. :)
