When are books read for DITHOR

I don't see a schedule for reading the literature books for DITHOR. Are they supposed to be read in the child's own time? Everyday? How many pages per day for a 4/5 level child who is using the boy book set?

Thanks
Shae

In the guides Preparing and up they are scheduled 3x's a week in the language arts box. You will see in the student book where you either take one book and divide the number of pages up over 15 days or 2 books and read 1 for 10 and 1 for 5 usually. Again they only read on the days it is scheduled and then there are 5 days for the project so all in all it takes around 6 1/2 weeks to get through one book.

I guess I assumed that the DITHOR time in the Language Arts block was for the DITHOR workbooks and lessons, not for the reading. I saw somewhere that the DITHOR work takes about 20min. And yet a bunch of pages were to be read each day or week. I can't remember now where I saw the page number recommendation. Online maybe? Or in the catalog? Anyway, I guess I was thinking that both the reading and the DITHOR work couldn't possibly happen in 20min.

There isn't a recommended number of pages to read. It is all based on the size of the book. If the book is 150 pages long they read 10 pages a day. The books we used from the book packs usually ended up with my ds reading around 12-13 pages a day. He isn't a fast reader and usually we did get DITHOR done in 20-25 minutes.
