Dictation

Post by WellsSchool » Mon Aug 19, 2013 10:05 pm

Is there a difference in how I implement the dictation exercises with the following statements?:

"Have students complete the first studied dictation exercise (see Appendix for directions and passages)." (Day 1)

"Have students complete one studied dictation exercise (see Appendix for directions and passages)." (Day 3)

"Have students complete one dictation exercise." (Day 4)

It is my understanding that once the dictation is mastered, I move on. Today my child got it totally correct on the first time around so I assume I am to move on, but the "first studied" and "studied" portions of the first two sentences are throwing me a bit. Is this a built-in review the next week?

Thank you kindly for any help,
Lori

You are correct that once your dc gets the dictation passage correct, you move on to the next one. I think the difference in wording is just for variety and mean the same thing...do dictation.
