This is my first time to post but I have been enjoying reading everyone's ideas on here for the last month. I just purchased LHFHG to use with my 5 year old daughter that we are going to begin as soon as VBS is over. I was wondering if any of the books suggested for optional reading in LHFHG are used in Beyond or Bigger?

Thanks!

I think you are safe. I did not check every book but I did check all the books I selected (which was quite a few) and there were no over laps in any of the books I selected at all. I was actually looking for it because it would have worked out well for us. But I will tell you that my kids in Bigger love to read the LHFHG extension books on their own. The books in the appendix are wonderful. Happy selecting!

Thanks! I am trying to decide which ones to purchase since we are going to be away from our local library for several months due to my husband's health. If any overlapped I was going to defiantly purchase those.

I have only found a few as I was making out my wish lists for yard sales that cross from one curriculum to another.

"The Sword in the Tree" is listed in LHFHG as an extra read aloud and is a an adventure choice in Beyond.

"Boys and Girls of Colonial Days" is listed in LHFHG as an extra read aloud and is a History Spine in Beyond.

The Courage of Sarah Noble is listed in LHFHG as an extra read aloud and is also in the Emerging Reader schedule.

"Columbus" & "Benjamin Franklin" by the D'Aulaires are listed in LHFHG as extra read alouds and are biography choices in Beyond.

"Stories of Great Americans for Little Americans" is listed in LHFHG as an extra read aloud and is a History Spine in Bigger.

That's all I have found. The books listed in Beyond do not cross over into Bigger.

HTH,
