I appreciate the freedom since it is scary to homeschool without it.

I am thankful today for a friend of ours (local pastor and also a homeschooling family) who had us out for a Fourth of July brunch. We read through the Declaration of Independence, a speech by Patrick Henry, and the preamble and part of the Constitution. Then the discussion centered around how we have been blessed to have such freedoms, personal rights preserved, in our country. But they are slowly being taken away. Few people think "outside the box," everyone wants a free handout, what our country stands for has changed. But we can also make a difference. We are training the next generation of leaders and thinkers. May the Lord use these precious ones (if Jesus tarries) to make this country once again a place where the Gospel is proclaimed and men and women worship and follow the Lord.
