and my research time has been cut shorter this year due to the arrival of a new baby (PTL).
My oldest is going to start Rev to Rev for 8th grade and we are going to order the Exploration Education Advanced kit. I'm a bit overwhelmed with the price of it

and wondered if anyone can tell me if I will be able to use this again with my next child with only buying a new notebook.
TIA.

I actually believe that the only part that is reusable is the disc. I think you can order a new kit at a reduced price directly from the exploration website. I have wondered about saving the projects so that the next child will only need to do the experiments not actually build the projects, but that is part of the program--the building part, so I'm not entirely sure that idea will work. I will know more when my dd begins going through this on her own this coming school year. My oldest will be using this for grade 8 and I have the advanced version. I am going to go ahead and count it as a science credit for her along with the inventor study. I'm also considering whether it needs to have anything else added to it--the exploration website claims that if you are using the advanced version it counts toward high school credit on its own with no additions, plus with the inventor study I think it will be just fine on its own.

The kit is not reusable. And yes, it's very pricey. My son did enjoy it though

There is a 'supplies only' kit that can be ordered. That takes around $35 off the price. EE was my ds's favorite science year so far! The pairing of it with the Inventor Study was so neat. We had absolutely everything we needed in the EE box, and it all worked - truly a unique experience when it comes to science kits - at least for us.

I'll be getting it again for my next ds when the time comes.
In Christ,
Julie

My daughter used this for this past school year. Like others have said, it was a definite favorite. She has never loved science so much. She only lamented that I hadn't bought the advanced kit (she was in 7th grade, so I followed Carrie's recommendation - and saved money). I do plan to get the advanced kit for my subsequent children (provided they want it, which I think they all will).
