Would This Work...

Or would it be too spread out?

I have about decided to go with Bigger for my 7 yr. who will be 8 in Dec. We will take it half speed for a while. We school during the summer but only 3 days a week. So, I am wondering since we only school three days a week June and July and take Aug. off, if I should just wait to start Bigger in Sept. or could we start now? I plan on following Julie's half speed schedule in this thread

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5600&p=41232#p41232

So that would mean doing:
Day 1 on Monday and Wed.
Day 2 on Friday and Monday
Day 3 on Wed. and Friday
Etc.

Is that too spread out? Or should I just wait and start when we are doing 5 days a week?

I hope this made sense. :D

Bigger is a more teacher-intensive program that is quite a jump up from Beyond for the student, so I would think that it would be a great program to slow down and take half-speed. I have often had to spread a unit out with a weekend in between, and it never interrupted the flow.

For a large part of the year we only school 3 days a week due to everything going on. Some of those days are connected, sometimes they aren't. Sometimes we go half speed, some days we go full speed, and some days I set a timer and whatever we get done in that time is it. My kids have never had trouble remembering things and progressing.

Occasionally *I* have to look back at the key ideas from the day before or so, but generally I could ask whoever is in the guide.
