High School Sample Book List?

Post by dianeh47 » Fri May 31, 2013 6:20 pm

Carrie,

I was wondering if there is going to be a sample book list for high school
like there was for the lower grades.

I also wanted to let you know that my ds finished MTMM yesterday for the school year.
I have been teaching HOD for five years now. Every year has been great, however this
year went so well for us. I think one of the biggest reasons was because I didn't add
anything extra. Looking forward to high school.

Blessings,
Diane

Not Carrie, but...

It is my understanding that there is no sample book list for HIghschool (I'm assuming you mean the dithor sample book list) because they don't do Dithor. All of the books for highschool lit have been posted in the sneek peek section, with the exception of the "living Library," which she will be posting soon-ish.

Hope that helps!

Diane - I'm so glad you had a wonderful year with MTMM! :D I had to learn to quit adding too, and boy did my load lighten and my homeschool days become brighter! :D We just do HOD too, and we love our days. We finish in a manageable amount of time, and there is still time in the day for our dc to explore, create, imagine, play, and read just for fun. None of us feel overloaded this way. It is incredibly freeing - I highly recommend it for the same reasons you shared here. :D

In response to your questions about DITHOR, the new World Geography guide will be using BJU for the lit study, along with the Girl Set or Boy Set of novels. It looks so neat! I think you will enjoy it, and I do feel looking ahead for my ds who just finished MTMM and his last year of DITHOR, that he is ready for it. He will miss DITHOR - he has loved it and did ask to do it one more year for high school, but we are making the switch to the WG Lit study. I think it is time for something different, but we do look back on our many years in DITHOR with great memories and fondness. I think you and your ds will enjoy the Lit Study in the WG guide too. HTH! :D
