Looking at ordering Beyond for my son who will be first grade in the fall. I'm confused about the Singapore Math. I see that there are math explorations scheduled in the teacher's guide and that you get the 1A and 1B workbooks. When I was looking at Little Hearts though, I saw that under the Singapore Math, there are also textbooks for the 1A and 1B. Do you not get the textbooks when ordering Beyond? Do you not need them? Is that what the Math Exploration in the guide is for? Some clarification in this area would be appreciated. Thanks.

You are correct that the math exploration activity takes the place of needing the textbooks.When you do these activities it is redundant to have them, especially when it would be more boring than the HOD plans! A lot of them involve treats - this was a favorite of my son.
So, enjoy the exploration activities. They are a lot of fun!

I agree with TrueGrit! The HOD hands-on math activities for 1A/1B in Beyond were a blast - and often yummy. She is right on track - you do not need the 1A/1B Textbooks when using Beyond's plans for math. The hands-on math activities in the daily plans of Beyond function as your teaching time. Little Hearts for His Glory's daily plans do not include hands-on math for 1A/1B, so the textbook is scheduled instead in its Appendix. Many families doing 1A/1B during LHFHG will order the Beyond guide just to have the hands-on math plans. I would. They are that good! HTH!
