Reason #8 to use HOD - The 4 Day Week!

A feature of HOD that has been especially helpful to me is the 4 day a week schedule that begins with the Preparing Hearts manual. I LOVE this plan!! It has helped me to stay on top of our school schedule and not always feel behind and playing "catch up". It has brought peace of mind to our family AND we actually finish the curriculum every year!
Some things the 4 day a week plan has given us:
Time for co-op classes
Time for music or sports lessons
Time to do a service project
Time for errands
Time for cleaning days
Time to finish up school work that didn't get done during the week
Time for field trips
Time for a day off if we are feeling overwhelmed
Time for sick days
Time to go on a 3 day weekend trip
And we can do all of these things and not have that dreadful feeling of being behind and "How are we ever going to catch up??"
I hate that feeling. It used to bring so much stress into my life. I'm so thankful that Carrie had the inspiration to schedule this way. The older the kids get, the busier life gets, the heavier school work load they have - the more I completely appreciate the 4 day schedule.
4 Day School Schedule = Priceless!
