I figured that while I had some time, I should try to read the literature that my daughter will be reading. I recently read Papa's Wife (which I never would have heard of, if not for HOD). I really enjoyed it, and I know my daughter will too when she gets to it. I will still try to get some of the others read, but I'm also working at fitting in some of the DITHOR titles that I've missed over the years.

Looking at the list Carrie really chose some great books for the girls. Not so familiar with the list for the boys.
Papa's Wife & A Lantern in her Hand were favorites of my grandmother and I have read them many times!

Oh! I am so glad that you enjoyed this book! I loved it too, and I remember reading it when I was a teen. It was actually a book that I kept through my married years and still had when we moved to the house we're currently in now. I was thrilled to find that the book was in print again. What a blessing and such an uplifting, humorous, and touching story of motherhood and marriage.
