WOW! We are moving!

Post by mskogen » Fri Apr 05, 2013 8:29 pm

My husband has accepted a job in NW Arkansas. I am looking to connect with families in this area. We will really close to the Ok border as well. I have some questions about homeschooling in AR. Thanks for reaching out.
Blessings,

How exciting! Certainly check out HSLDA regarding homeschool laws in that state. We are moving across the country this year too. I found some really great tips on homeschooling while moving, and how to get going after the move on pinterest. Praying for you guys!

We moved 13 years ago and it was a great time to assess all the things we had been involved in. It is like a do-over. You get to really think about your priorities and what you want family life to look like without the baggage of the mistakes you have made (activity involvement wise). I know there is a sad aspect to it as well. I remember that as well. It is very advantageous to be a homeschooler when you are moving. It is a constant for all to cling to in a time of change. I am jealous of the weather you will be moving too! I agree with the previous poster. HSLDA is a great place to check out the homeschooling requirements for your new state.

Thank you ladies for the words of encouragement. I have checked out HSLDA for legal information. It seems faily simple. We will be moving over the summer months so a great break, altough we normally school through the summer  This momma will have to adjust.

8arrows I shared your suggestion about new beginnnings with my hubby and he agreed. It is defintely going to be an adventure, one that we are all excited to start. I am greatful for HOD that will make the homeschool aspect of our move easier. The children all know what is expected. Yeah for HOD! :D

I will update on our move when we get settled. In the meantime I would appreciate prayers for our family during this time of transition and looking for a home. Thank you lovely Godly ladies!

I went to college in NW Arkansas-John Brown University- and have great memories of my time there! It's especially beautiful in the Fall and the Spring.

We're moving in 2 weeks...it's an exciting time, isn't it? As the date gets closer and closer I'm finding it a bit stressful, and it's a little sad to be leaving the wonderful friends and our church here, but we are all excited for our new life, as well. Best wishes on your preparations and moving! Enjoy!
