Tip for Copywork Help

Post by my3sons » Thu Mar 28, 2013 3:05 pm

When my dc have to copy something from the Bible, the guide, or another resource, one thing that has really helped them find what they are copying in the 'sea of words' is to section off the copywork part with sticky notes - one on top of what is being copied, and one on the bottom. I just used this tip with Riley in CTC today and was reminded how much it helped him make short work of his copywork and thought I'd share! :D

What a great idea! My dd in Bigger has to copy Bible verses fairly often and I have been writing them down on another sheet of paper for her to copy from. This would save ME some time and I bet she'll love copying from the Bible instead. You always have the best tips!

Perfect timing on this tip as my just-turned 8 yr old is just starting Preparing and I knew I needed to get him to the point where he could copy from the book. Like the other poster, I had been typing out the Bible verse and other work in Bigger for him to copy from. I tried the tip and it worked. He had no problems copying from the book. Thanks!

I read a post of yours sometime last year about using sticky notes. It has worked really, really well for our youngest. Thanks!! :D
