Emerging Readers question

Hi, everyone :D I have yet another question.

I will be ordering Beyond for my oldest this summer. She is a strong reader, but young, so I am planning to use the emerging reader set. However, she has already read The Beginner's Bible cover to cover...several times. She has now moved on to a full NIV translation Bible. I feel that reading The Beginner's Bible yet again would be completely un-stimulating for her. :?

Would it disrupt the flow of the program to simply omit the Bible selection and start with the emerging readers at the beginning? After completing them, I was thinking of simply moving on to DITHOR 2/3.

Thoughts? 8)

The point of the emerging readers is to build on phonics knowledge and shift the focus to comprehension. If she is on a higher reading level it seems like your plan would be fine. My daughter was in 1st last year and did the ER set. She too had read that particular Bible repeatedly and was reading her regular Bible, but she didn't mind rereading it. We went at a faster pace, but that was all I changed.

You can start the emergent readers at any point you want. My ds started using HOD in 2nd grade with Beyond and I started him in the emergent readers with Wagon Wheels. He also skipped the nature reader because he had already read it before. There are also a bunch of great supplemental titles for each week suggested in the ER schedule. I have added many of those in for my ds and dd. I would just start with the titles after the Beginner's Bible or get the supplemental titles for the weeks that is used.
