Had our CTC Roman meal tonight!

Post by lmercon » Mon Mar 04, 2013 8:16 pm

My ds just LOVES the meals that we do every so often! Tonight, he planned and prepared the Roman meal. We all reclined in our togas as he served his three courses. It was a wonderful time. He loves the history, and this experience just makes it come alive. Thank you, Carrie for the great plans. I know, on my own, I wouldn't have made it happen. I love that the guides gently "force" me to do things that I might otherwise not attempt in my busy life. Great stuff!

Laura,

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your Roman feast! :D We just had our Medieval Feast last week. Our boys had such a fun time with it, even though my little server dropped a couple of the hard bread trenchers on the way to the feast. So, my boys ate on broken trenchers! Between courses we had one child juggle, one child tell a short story, and one child recite a Bible verse. It was great to see my third little guy as the one in charge of the feast. He felt so grown-up! :D I know that the guides force me to do things I would never get to otherwise, too! :D

Thanks for sharing! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

How fun! :) I can just picture you all sitting around in togas...

I am looking forward to doing all these fun things! I am very, very not creative, and am enjoying the creativity I am finding here. Thanks for sharing! :D
