I have been looking at A Child's History of the World in Preparing. I see that the book is over 400 pages. Other than the first 3 chapters that are skipped, is the whole book used in the guide?

I also have a question about this book. Does it matter which edition you use? I assume the lesson plans are written with the page numbers for the 2010 edition. Would using another edition throw you off in either content or following the lesson plans?

As far as I know the entire book is used except for the first couple of chapters. My ds and I are really enjoying CHOW, and Preparing.

Yes, it does matter which edition you use. The HOD plans include the page numbers for the CHOW edition that is sold through their website. We were short on money that year, so I used a much older copy that I already had...and it can be done. Finding the correct page numbers that line up with the topic covered that day can be a bit time-consuming and/or frustrating.

Of course, it has been several years since we completed Preparing, but that is what I remember.
One of the things I love about HOD is that it truly is open and go. Having a wrong edition detracts from that aspect. FWIW, I will be purchasing the correct edition when my youngest gets to that point!
