question about grammar/DITHOR

My 8 year old/3rd grade son will be using DITHOR next year (along with one of the programs, probably Bigger). I see that in Bigger, the Rod and Staff grammar program is scheduled (Preparing to Build or Building Wisely). In the DITHOR section of the catalog, it once again has the Rod and Staff program, but it also has the Language Lessons books as an option. I'm a little confused about whether I should choose to do either the Rod and Staff OR the Language Lessons? I have never seen either book in person, so I'm not sure if they cover very similar things or if they're different. (Then there's Igniting Your Writing, too. How is that different from the other two? I'm assuming it stresses ideas for making writing more interesting in terms of word choice, variety in sentence beginnings, etc. but just want to make sure that's what it is! ) All of the grammar resources look neat, I'm just not sure exactly what I need. My son does a great job forming cohesive paragraphs on his own, writing short creative stories, and with overall spelling, grammar, and mechanics, but I haven't really done a lot of formal grammar instruction with him. So far I've been teaching grammar concepts as they come up in his writing rather than making it an isolated subject. Any insight on the grammar choices would be much appreciated. Thanks!
