Hello wise ladies of the HOD Board!! I was wondering if anyone had any insight into what would be the best foreign language to learn?

Thanks a ton! 8)

I hope this is ok to post, but I found this article by Crosswalk really helpful in our choosing. It lists the benefits of various foreign language choices for high school, as well as the difficulty, etc. It's called "A Guide to Choosing the Right Foreign Language for You":

(If the link is not ok to use here, please PM and I can send it to anyone who is interested privately.)

Carrie's sons are learning Greek. It will help them read the new testament in its original language, help them understand the deeper meanings when comparing the greek and english translations, and improve english vocabularly :) we have started greek and have dabbled with latin as well. It is great foe vocab, and a great help in understanding otuer romance languages like spanish amd intalian, and great for science/premed/nursing majors!!

I had my Chinese DD in Chinese but she asked to change to Hindi like her sister (from India). For us we knew one of the biggest obstacles international adoptees face is not being able to speak the language when or If they ever have an opportunity to meet birth mom. :-)

tho living In TX I think for high school we may do Spanish.
