Carrie!! You'll be in Iowa this weekend...

Post by MidwestMama » Sun Jun 01, 2008 10:21 pm

I just realized you'll be at the NICHE conference in Iowa this weekend!! And you're even doing a session/seminar on DITHOR. How fun.

I hadn't been signed up to go, and had been debating this weekend whether I could make it. It's reasonably close to us, but I don't have care lined up for my little guy Friday during the day, and the rest of the weekend we will mostly be involved in a family wedding. Hmm... might have to try to work something out for part of a day.... :)

Cris,

Yes! We'll be there. We're looking forward to it!

Hope to see you there.

Blessings,
Carrie

wah! I don't think I'm going to make it this year!! *this is me throwing a temper tantrum*
I REALLY wanted to go, and figure out some high school stuff for ds #1, who will be in 9th grade (IS in 9th grade! yikes!) but I can't really justify the entrance fee right now. boo hoo!! (I might sneak in on friday...maybe...if dh can be made to see the light of my wisdom...) ROFL!!

At least the gym shouldn't be too warm this year, Carrie-it sounds like rain is in the forecast. (which, on the other hand, could mean a sticky day...sorry... :? )

Darci,

I hope you'll get a chance to come! We'd love to see you! :D I'm an Iowa farmgirl at heart, as that is where I grew up. Now, I'm a South Dakota transplant!

So, I'm used to that humid, sticky bean-walking weather. Every time we exhibit in Iowa though, I'm reminded of how spoiled I've become with the air conditioning! The Iowa convention is always like a little weight-loss program (as we're sweating off the pounds), or at least I wish I were!

Blessings,
Carrie

well, it's an odd prayer answer, but it sounds like we'll have rain all weekend so that means no camping-which means I'll get to come! I just have to promise to stay in my budget...rofl!!!

we'll be there saturday-I'll see you then!

I made it!!!!!!
I actually was there for about two hours, but it was all I needed. I didn't have a lot of shopping to do (didn't seem to stop me from buying, tho...) But I had a great chat with Julie and a quick chat with Carrie. :-) It was great to see how busy they were!! Expansion of HOD is always a good thing, eh??

Then I ran into my girlfriend who tried a similar program from another publisher (you know the one ;)) last year, and said she never used it-it was too much work. I seemed to have talked her into HOD because she said she bought a WHOLE bunch of stuff! :-) She said Carrie was SO helpful, and AWESOME! I had to throw an "I told you so" at her!! ROFL!!!

Carrie, I didn't know that you grew up in Iowa! Where at? I lived in Iowa my whole life until I got married... grew up in St. Charles, about 45 minutes south of DesMoines. :D :D

Love my husband of 18 years this year;
Love my 3 teenagers--13, 15, and 16. They keep me young, but hanging on for dear life!
Used HOD in the earliest years with all three of them!

Waving to everyone! :)

Just joined the board because I learned about it at Carrie's talk at NICHE. I really enjoyed it and learned more about DITHOR that helped me alot.

I not only figured out to use DITHOR but I also got hooked on the other programs and bought Beyond Little Hearts to use for my 2 kids this fall. It's EXACTLY what I've been looking for! :D

Thanks Carrie (and your helper at the booth ;) )

So sorry we missed it!! DH's brother got married this weekend (how COULD they schedule their wedding that same weekend, LOL!!) so we just had too much going on. Well, that and the basement flooding off and on the last four days...

Anyway, hope it was a great one!! Carrie, hopefully I'll catch you next year or somewhere else!!

Okay, so those of you in Iowa... anyone in the central area?? Just curious, would be kind of neat to meet someone IRL who uses HOD!! :) I didn't realize there were so many on the board!!

Hey girls, I am originally from Rock Rapids, Iowa (which is in the northwest corner). My hubby was my high school sweetheart, and we've been married 20 years this August!

By the way, any helper you meet at our booth is always a member of my family. Most often it is my sister, Julie (who was in Des Moines with me and is my3sons on the board), or my mom and dad! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

I'm so glad all of you Iowa gals had a great time at the conference! :D (Born and raised in Iowa, too...first Elgin - teeny tiny town in the NE corner of the state, then briefly in Lake City - central IA town with NO lake, and from Jr High on Creston - SW Iowa.)

My dh and I went to NICHE when our oldest was 4. He stayed with my parents while we went exploring with our 3-week-old Allison. Now, my memory of the conference is a little foggy...but I know that I met Julie...and now 4 years later the Lord brought us back here for our homeschooling curriculum. Isn't it amazing to see how He works in His plan for our lives?!

OK, Carrie......I'm from Doon (now living in Michigan) :)

I knew you were from Iowa, but had no idea where.....I just had to giggle when I saw Rock Rapids. Who knew?

But now I know why I feel so right at home with this program....you are from right at home :!:

Have a great day! Lori
