Well, I picked up the Resurrection to Reformation for my rising 6th grader (11 years old and very independent, strong reader).
But here's where I think I messed up:
Two of my other children will be in 2nd and 4th grade. The rising 4th grader has high functioning autism/dyslexia, is a weak reader, and has a very small grasp of grammar. He's currently working through Essentials in Writing at grade level, but not quite sure how much of it he's actually retaining.
When I looked online, it appeared as though the Bigger package would work well to combine the two grades, as she'll be 8 and he's 9! I also thought the skill level would fit, too.
But when I looked at the catalog, it appears that the Bigger package is for 2nd and 3rd graders, and a 4th grader needs the extension pack.
Can someone toss in some thoughts? Did I make the right decision? Should the 4th grader actually be in Preparing? Or should he still be on track staying with Bigger? And would it be appropriate to use 3rd grade grammar while doing Bigger?
And just out of curiosity, what if a child happens to finish the history sequence in 7th grade? Do they repeat a manual?

You are fine! The extensions are for 10 and 11 year olds (and only if they need them). I think you will have a great year and Rod and Staff three will work well.

I agree, it sounds like they'll do fine in Bigger.8arrows wrote:You are fine! The extensions are for 10 and 11 year olds (and only if they need them). I think you will have a great year and Rod and Staff three will work well.
You shouldn't have any need to repeat a guide.
