First day!

Post by RestInHim » Mon Feb 11, 2013 8:04 pm

Our box arrived today! This was our first day of using LHTH with my son, and he did enjoy it. By far the biggest hit was the finger play. Who knew? I was extremely skeptical about them, but decided to go at them with gusto anyway, and both my big kids loved it! My 5-year-old was even more enthusiastic than my preschooler! So, I think it was a success. Now that we've begun, I am even more excited about putting my daughter in Beyond this fall. Thanks for everyone's help with placement, etc. Did I mention I love this board? :D

We just started LHFHG about three weeks ago and my DS' favorite part by far is the fingerplay! I feel as you do--who knew?!

We love the finger plays over here too! My little guy with Down syndrome loves music, so I thought they'd be a big hit with us. Glad you guys are off to a great start!! :D

We've finished the second day, and my little guy loves it more than ever. We've done A-A-Adam 4 times today! I can tell this is going to be exhausting, but fun  And all three kids looked at me like Mommy was going crazy when I started taping a big A on the dining room floor! He's beyond learning letters and sounds, but I figure doing some age-appropriate reinforcement won't hurt. And he did think it was fun.

It will take the kids a while to get used to this new format...we are very much a workbook family and always have been. Nevertheless, I really like LHTH! :D

Our kids LOVED the fingerplays too! In fact, it's the part that the olders would leave their own schoolwork and still come join in on now and then. I'd be doing the fingerplay with the little guy, and then all of a sudden two more would race over and join in. Priceless memories. I'm so glad your first day went so well, and you have so many wonderful days ahead of you! Thanks so much for sharing - this was such an encouraging post to read. :D
