Just have to share... We have been going through Preparing, and finished a read-a-loud, "Raiders from the Sea". My boy liked it so well, and kept asking to read the rest of the series, so we bought the other 4 books this evening. (kindle version)

He is now on the fourth chapter in the next book in the series, (hot apple cider and sliced raw mushrooms in hand...strange combination; but among his favorites ) and reading on his own, even forgoing playing video games with his dad and brother! Am SO pleased with how HOD has helped stir this love of reading in him....yay!!!!

This is so great, Starla! Our sons have loved these books in this series as well, and I know I would have never found them on my own. The books chosen by HOD are hands-down the best our dc have read. I could not be more thankful to Carrie for reading countless books to narrow the books down to just simply the best. I'm so glad your ds is loving reading books like this series, and I can promise you - there are more awesome ones to come that spark just as much interest and the need to find the rest to complete the series or to read the rest of the books by that author!
