Is Story of the World scheduled fairly in order or does it skip around? Is the whole book scheduled or just parts? I am just planning for next year and trying to get a feel for the next guide.

bumping...I am just looking for a general answer here, no specifics. I have several Story of the World extras on hand from when my older boys did this program. If it is scheduled fairly in order, I may do some of the activities on Fridays, if not, I probably won't. Just planning for next year....

Melissa,

We schedule Story of the World mainly in order. :D Sometimes, we jump about a bit within a chapter to more closely align with the other resources we are using as spines for the history. However, it is good to know that Story of the World is interwoven with the other resources that focus more on world history, and we go back and forth between the American and world history running concurrently at the time. 8)

I couldn't remember offhand exactly on which part of the book we began with Story of the World in MTMM, so I checked and we listed the following on the website: :D

Note: Missions to Modern Marvels omits the first 11 chapters and begins using this volume at Chapter 12. This book is scheduled for the student to read independently. :D

Hope that helps!

Blessings,
Carrie

I had totally missed the part about the first chapters being skipped. Your information was just what I needed. I will have to think about whether I want to bother with the tests. We may do an extra activity on Fridays. That would make me popular! Thank you.
