Anyone use the Audio Book of Mystery of History Vol 3 with RTR instead of the printed copy or along with. My dd is so auditory, I am considering doing the audio book of MOH Vol 3 instead of the paper book. Has anyone done this successfully?

I haven't done that, but I have the first two volumes on CD and a couple of my children have listened to them over and over. I think that sounds like a really good idea.

I have the book but am very interested in getting the audio. I think my two boys who are doing RtR would really enjoy them. I am an almost 100% auditory learner. For me the audio would be very worth it.

Edie,

I think you could definitely use the MOH III audio book alongside the MOH III text, however I would not recommend replacing the reading of the text with the audio. The reason for this is because students need to learn to narrate both orally and in writing from reading their own material at this age, and it is hard to refer back to an audio when preparing to narrate.

Seeing the names and places (and the pictures and maps) included in the text is very helpful for narrating and also helps cement these places and names and people in one's mind. It is really tough to write a written narration from an audio, as the students will be unsure how to spell many of the names and places, and they aren't able to look back to sort and sift through the information to decide what to share. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
