Reading program

I was needing a little advice on a reading program. I have finished up with my dd a program (before finding HOD) that teaches reading. It left off with teaching CVC words and hasn't gotten into silent e words. My books that transitioned into silent e accidentally took a swim

so I am needing to get something for her. I am not exactly sure what to get for her. I was thinking about getting something like the ETC books because I think she could possibly transition into the ER books sooner, but I saw the learn to read books and thought about those too. I just don't have my hands on the programs to get a good feel for what would be good to use. We have some Bob book type readers that she can read pretty easy. Just looking for a little advice. Thanks

Amy,
Are you looking for a phonics program? Have you looked at Carrie's recommendations as seen here
http://www.heartofdakota.com/phonics.php? The Reading Lesson is straightforward, fun, easy to use, self paced. My daughter LOVED it.

Phonics Pathways has always been my personal favorite; no frills, thorough, self paced.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if I should get one of the phonics programs but I guess thinking about it now we could quickly go through until we hit where her ability is now. Thanks

Amy,
Are you looking for reading material that is simpler than the ERS book list OR do you need to continue with phonics instruction? It sounds like you might need to keep going with phonics if you left off at CVC words. I'm not sure if you want simple reading material to practice what has been learned in her phonics instruction OR if you need to continue with phonics instruction because you didn't get past learning CVC words.

She definitely still needs more phonics. She pretty much does CVC words and do -sh and -th, but she doesn't know much past that. I have most of the ER books and I know she still has a way till she is there.

Got it! Then you should definitely commit to a phonics program.
