My son will not be doing the science box in Revival to Revolution, but I don't want him to miss the inventor's study. What books will he need to complete the study and is the teacher's guide necessary. At this time he is completing CtC for 6th grade. We are behind in the guide sequence and won't need the guide until 8th grade, so I was thinking he could complete the inventor's study this summer. I know he will enjoy it.

It is all the books listed in option #1 without of course the Exploration Education. You then also need the notebooking pages and the guide is necessary because it tells when to do written narrations and what to add to the timeline in the notebooks pages as well as there are pictures to color/label in the notebooking pages. The guide also tells you when to read The Story of Inventions and what pages, because that book is interspersed through the entire year so that it coincides with the other books.

Thank you Lynn. I was pretty sure the teacher's guide was necessary. We will just wait until 8th grade :)

That will probably work best anyway. The study ties in very well with the time period of the history they are studying and some of the inventors are mentioned in the history spines as well.
