HOD has given my ds a love of drawing

I put this in my weekly review blog post, but I just had to share this here. Before we started HOD my ds never colored. If he ever did draw it was not good at all. Due to his CP he just didn't have the fine motor control and it was an activity he just didn't like. When we started with Preparing the drawing would frustrate him, especially Draw and Write Through History. I never let him skip any of it though. The next year he started to like Draw and Write and then he started to check out some drawing books and his love for drawing has grown each year. It is still tough for him and he will never be an art major, but it is now a hobby that he loves. The other thing he loves is the volunteer work we do at the animal shelter. So he has combined both things and has been hard at work drawing all the dogs at the shelter. I take the pictures for the internet and so he then looks at my pictures and does his drawings. He is putting them all up on my dining room/school room wall and removes them if they get adopted. I just love that thanks to HOD he has a hobby he loves so much and it is great therapy for his hand. I can see a huge difference in the drawings he did last week and the ones he did today.
