Commit to pray for the Austin Family

I just felt really compelled to start a thread to encourage everyone to pray for Carrie and the Austin Family. There is so much work and I'm sure prayer that goes into the guides. We all reap what Carrie and her family are sowing. We should invest some of our time each day to pray for her to have strength, grace, and wisdom as she writes for us and our children. Pray that God would miraculously multiply her time and give her the health needed to keep up such a strenuous pace.

My thought is that I'm sure Carrie knows that people are praying for her, but this thread will kind of be that proof. Feel free to post on here when you have prayed for the Austins. Also feel free to speak words of encouragement here as well. Proverbs 16:24 says, "Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones."

My dc and I just joined hands and my ds prayed for you, Carrie. He asked the Lord to give you the encouragement that you need and plenty of rest. He also prayed for your family.

I just talked to a friend today and she asked how school was going. I told her really well. She said, "I've been hearing that from you a lot the last few years." I can honestly say it is all due to HOD. My homeschooling life totally changed when we made the switch to HOD. Thanks for being such a blessing to my family. Sending you lots of love, hugs, and prayers.

Angie and I just said a prayer for you, Carrie. Angie prayed that you would get to spend more time with your family and she also thanked the Lord for those 'awesome' books that you are writing. It's so easy to just go through each homeschool day and take for granted what we truly have been blessed with. HOD is not just another homeschool curriculum. It is a wonderful ministry to which God has called you and we are thankful for the benefits of your ministry. We pray God's continued blessing on you and your family. Lord willing, we look forward to spending many more years with you. :D :D

Mike & Carrie,
I am praying for you and your family. May you find peace, strength, courage, wisdom, rest as you fix your eyes on the race set before you. May you have strength and joy as you enter the High School phase. I pray for Carrie's Pappa, healing and may the family have extra time to make wonderful memories. I think of Carrie & Mike as great leaders in the homeschool community. May they hear,"Thank you my great and humble servants." I imagine the reception they will receive in heaven when they see Jesus face to face and get a glimpse of all the parents and kiddos who are there because Christ was in each day and throughout each day in HOD curriculum. I have prayed for HOD, but have just put HOD and the Austin family on my permanent daily prayer list. The quality education we are reaping for our children invaluable. I shudder every time I think of what it must take to put it all together. Heartfelt thanks to the Austins.

We will definitely continue to pray for the Austin Family. Having met them a few times at conventions their heart for doing what God desires is so evident. I can't imagine doing what they do except for the fact that it is a calling and God provides for them. My homeschooling journey for my ds would look so different without HOD.

Yes!

The time she spent writing the guides... but we must also be thankful and appreciative of all the time and energy that the family puts into taking and filling orders, counseling those who are making decisions ordering, looking through aaaaaall the books that don't make it into the guides- I am sure there are many..! All the time she spends here writing patiently, answering so graciously our questions...

All that must take a huge amount of time.

I am busy enough with 2 kids and using the guides already written and with the books already picked out!

Austin family, you are so appreciated, God bless. And Julie too! You all are so wonderful. :)

Ladies,

Thank you so much for this wonderful thread and for taking time to remember our family in prayer. We are so grateful that the Lord has chosen to surround us with such encouraging people like you! :D Your prayers are a huge blessing to us as we seek the Lord's will. You are so so gracious to remember us.

This is such a wonderful idea Edwena! Carrie and her family have been on my mind lots lately. I have shared the need to pray for them with my dh and dc, and we will all continue to pray for them.

Austin family, words are inadequate to thank you for all you do. You are making an impact in not only my life but my dc's lives as well and for that I am eternally grateful. Thank you to all of the Austin boys for sharing your mother so graciously so that we can enjoy this curriculum. Thank you all for the many hours of hard work that all of you put in each day. Your efforts are appreciated. May God continue to bless you all as you continue to follow His calling. :D

We will be praying. Like others, the Austin family have been on my mind many times this month. My husband and I praise God for your hard work as it is a joy to use your work and lead my children to God. My non-believing family thank you as they see my children getting a quality education with "good behavior and morals."
God bless you and guide you and your family

It's just really in my heart that this thread be an ongoing thing where we can come post when we think of it. So if you already posted feel free to do so again in the future.

Ds just said the other day, "Momma, we haven't prayed for Mrs. Austin yet today." What a blessing!!!

When I told dh about all the hours you put in, Carrie, he said that it was because it was a ministry too. Believe me, that is a compliment from my dh. He would not throw those words around lightly.

We are still praying for you and your family each day.

Our family is praying for yours. So thankful for you and for your commitment to this calling in your life. You are very inspiring to me personally in my own life, as I learn to draw on His strength to complete a task I feel unequipped for. You are a permanent prayer request! :)
